Outside of the Retainer: A Professional Indemnity Update
On 11 July 2019, Anthony Lo Surdo SC presented a paper at the Australian Insurance Law Association Twilight Seminar Series on the topic “Outside of the Retainer: A Professional Indemnity Update.” It’s emphasis is on claims made against professional advisers by third parties (or non-clients), provides a synopsis of the claims that are often made by third parties against professional advisers and considers trends in claims involving accessorial liability for breach of fiduciary duties and those involving powers of attorney.
